About Moon Beats
Moon Beats is a music game with a band of five moon creatures: Bongo the drum, Pip, Lulu, Zap and Twinkle, who each play their own sound. In Copy the Band they play a short tune, and children tap the same band members in the same order, keeping to the rhythm. The tunes get longer and faster level by level.
Beat Catcher is a gentle rhythm game: notes fall towards the band and children tap each member just as their note arrives, building combos as they go. In the Studio, children make their own songs on a grid of beats, change the speed, try a surprise song and watch the band dance. The band's notes all come from one friendly scale, so every tune sounds good.

Levels and difficulty
Copy the Band has 12 levels with three tunes each. Tunes start with 3 notes from three band members and grow to 8 notes from all five, getting faster as they go, and from level 4 some levels add long and short gaps to copy. Beat Catcher has three songs: Moon Walk is easy, Star Hop is medium and Comet Rush is hard, and each opens with a star on the one before. Get every tune right first time, keeping the rhythm on the rhythm levels, for 3 stars.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Clap the rhythm together before tapping it.
- Sing along with the band to remember longer tunes.
- Make a song in the Studio and ask your child to teach it to you.
